Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons (30ml) chili powder
- 1 tablespoon (15ml) ground cumin
- 1 tablespoon (15ml) smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon (5ml) garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon (5ml) onion powder
- 1 teaspoon (5ml) dried oregano, preferably Mexican oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5ml) cayenne pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5ml) freshly ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon (5ml) sea salt or kosher salt
Instructions:
- In a small bowl, measure out all the spices.
- Combine all spices thoroughly using a spoon or whisk.
- Taste the mix and adjust the seasoning to your liking. Want it hotter? Add more cayenne. Prefer it smokier? A touch more smoked paprika.
- Transfer the taco spice mix to an airtight container. Store in a cool, dark place for up to 6 months.
