Ingredients:
- ¼ cup (60ml) rice vinegar
- 2 tablespoons (30ml) soy sauce (low-sodium preferred)
- 2 tablespoons (30ml) toasted sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons (30ml) honey or maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon (15ml) grated fresh ginger
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon (15ml) water
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
- ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for a touch of heat)
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl or jar, add rice vinegar, soy sauce, sesame oil, honey (or maple syrup), ginger, garlic, water, sesame seeds, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).
- Whisk vigorously until all ingredients are well combined and emulsified. Alternatively, seal the jar tightly with a lid and shake until emulsified.
- Taste the dressing and adjust seasoning as needed. Add more honey for sweetness, vinegar for tanginess, or soy sauce for saltiness.
- Use immediately or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Shake well before using, as the dressing may separate upon standing.
