Ingredients:
- 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup (220g) brown sugar, packed
- 2 cups (240g) all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and brown sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Gradually add the all-purpose flour and salt to the butter mixture. Mix until a soft dough forms.
- Stir in the vanilla extract until evenly distributed.
- Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes to firm up.
- Roll out the chilled dough on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness. Use a cookie cutter or knife to cut out cookies.
- Transfer cookies to the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 1 inch apart. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Store in an airtight container.
