Ingredients:

  • 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup (60g) unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 3/4 cup (180ml) buttermilk, cold

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or forks until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Gradually add the cold buttermilk, stirring until just combined.
  5. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and gently knead it a few times to bring it together.
  6. Roll out the dough to about 1-inch thickness.
  7. Use a biscuit cutter to cut out biscuits, placing them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Gather any scraps, re-roll, and cut out additional biscuits.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving.
