Ingredients:

  • 2 ¼ cups (280 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp (5 g) baking soda
  • ½ tsp (2 g) salt
  • 1 cup (227 g) unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup (150 g) brown sugar, packed
  • ½ cup (100 g) granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp (5 mL) vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 2 cups (340 g) semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
  3. In a separate large bowl, cream together softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Incorporate vanilla extract and eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the butter mixture, mixing just until combined.
  6. Gently fold in chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  7. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  8. Scoop dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  9. Bake in preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden but the center remains soft.
  10. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
